Pineville United Methodist Church of Pineville North Carolina

— UMW Circles ——

Women’s circles are a tradition of the United Methodist faith.  Small, unique groups of women who share similar interests meet regularly to develop a creative, supportive fellowship through Bible study, prayer and service.

Pineville UMC offers one morning and two evening circles that all meet at the church in Fellowship Building Room 1:

  • Mable Cherry Circle meets the fourth Tuesday of January, February, March, May, September, October and November at 10:30 a.m. and mostly includes retired women of various ages. Visitors are encouraged and new members are welcomed. (Named after a missionary the UMW sponsored in the past.)

Contact Louise Hair for more information.

  • Louise Ardrey Circle meets the third Tuesday of February, March, May, June, July, September and November at 7 p.m. and includes women of various ages.  It always has room for visitors and new members.  (Named after the daughter of one of Pineville UMC's founding fathers; she led the Woman's Missionary Society and served as a trustee and Sunday School superintendent.)

Contact Evelyn Robinson for details.

  • Love Circle meets the third Thursday of February, March, May, June, July, September and November at 7 p.m.; currently, most members are still in the workforce.  Visitors and new members of all ages are welcome.

Contact Debbie Heiges for more information.

During the months the evening circles do not meet individually, they meet together for a Unit Meeting with a pre-planned program (which is presented to the morning circle during the same month).  All circles meet together in December for a Christmas Gathering.
