Bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2) Stephen Ministers have been fulfilling this scripture at Pineville UMC since 1995.

Stephen Ministers work together with our pastor to reach more people with Christian care than he is able to reach alone. When Rev. Stinson-Wesley is away, Stephen Ministers are "on call" to meet pastoral needs.

After training and commissioning, Stephen Ministers provide one-on-one care to people in crisis. They’re matched in a confidential relationship with someone who is experiencing any kind of life need or circumstance including

hospitalization,
grief,
depression,
divorce,
loss of job and
many others.

Those receiving care can be sure that their identities and ministering relationships will remain private.
