Christian Education

  • Did you miss the first Holy Gossip! classes this winter?  Never fear -- we're bringing them back by popular demand!  Join us now throug August 22 during the Sunday School hour in Room 107 to explore the importance of becoming invitational and learn how to start within your own circle.  Check out the details.
  • Want to get smarter about Proverbs?  A summer women's Bible study will help you do just that!  Join us on Sunday afternoons, June 6 -- August 29, from 4:30 -- 6:30 p.m. in Stacy Hall for Wising Up, a study of Proverbs by Beth Moore.  With videos, discussion, a low cost of only $1 per session, this is a great study to invite a friend to attendLearn more about this series or contact Jane Shutt with questions.  

Members 

  • Get ready to get sweaty at a churchwide work day on Saturday, August 14!  Join the Trustees for a light breakfast at 8 a.m. and help with various tasks on the church campus until lunchtime.  Contact Kenny Cable with questions.
  • The Visions Group will meet on Sunday, August 1, at 12:15 p.m. in Stacy Hall. A light lunch will be served. Plan to attend and bring three ideas/visions/goals that you would like for Pineville UMC to work toward in 2011. Call Gilda Bass with questions.
  • Save the date!  Plan to be at church on Sunday, October 17, for Homecoming Sunday! More details will come soon.
  • Volunteers Needed:  It takes many hands to love and teach our children in our Summer Music Camps. If you'd like to help, contact Jane Shutt.  All volunteers will go through Safe Sanctuary screenings.
  • Openings are still available this year to remember or honor loved ones by placing flowers in the sanctuary.  The flower chart is located on the bulletin board outside of Stacy Hall.

Ministries

  • The Love Offering for July will support the six United Methodist Special Offerings: Human Relations (supports ministries that bring together people from different cultures), One Great Hour of Sharing (United Methodist Committee on Relief), Native American Ministries, Peace with Justice, World Communion (supports churches working together) and United Methodist Students (supports college scholarships). You can give to one or more of these or make a general offering that will be divided among them. Make your check payable to Pineville UMC with "UM Special Offering" in the memo line.
  • Pineville UMC will send a building team to the Gulf Coast from October 10 -- 16, 2010, to assist with ongoing recovery from Hurricane Katrina in partnership with the Mississippi United Methodist Disaster Response and Katrina Recovery. All volunteers are welcome!  You don't need to be experienced in construction to go to Gulfport, Miss., with us!  We'll also need two or three kitchen volunteers. An organizational meeting will be scheduled later; meanwhile, contact Jeff Mills or David Eaker with questions.

 

Music

  • The Junaluska Singers will present a concert at Providence UMC on Monday, July 26, at 7 p.m.  We will take the church van and leave the parking lot at 6:15 p.m. Please join us for this special event!  Contact Jane Shutt at 704-889-2022 for details.
  • Let's get singing!  It's time to register for music camps!  A session will be held for elementary students in August

United Methodist Women

  • Coupon collection reminder:  we continue to collect them for our military families!  Please consider donating your unused coupons to this ministry.  If you clip them, put the loose ones in plastic baggies so we don't lose them!  Place them in the container by the bulletin board in the hallway at the end of the Connector.

United Methodist Youth

  • Pineville UMC's Youth will not meet as regularly scheduled on Sundays.  Instead, join them during their Summer of Fun!  The schedule of events has been posted on the Ministries:  Youth page.
